Grand tour between Italy and Slovenia: the places indicated are free from traffic for about 60%; along this itinerary you can enjoy a breath-taking sight, crossing the Valli del Natisone, the valleys where the Natisone river flows, and the lowlands of Friuli.
Start in front of the railway station of Cividale.

The main part of the itinerary runs in Slovenia: an interesting route that links the lowland with the mountains, and two neighbouring countries too. Absolutely attractive.

An enchanting trip from Cividale, crossing the Valli del Natisone, amazing sight between Tribil and Castelmonte.
The itinerary:

A very interesting itinerary with two climbs fully immersed in the wild nature of the mountains.

Cividale – Cormons

Time: approx. 80 minutes
Start from Cividale, at the crossing with the segregated cycle facility FVG4, from Udine.
Head south-westwards to the hamlets of Sant’Apollonia and Grupignano.
Once in Grupignano the cycle facility leads under the alternative route of the SS356 to Cormons, often featuring a heavy traffic.
Now proceed on the side of the new Zona Artigianale of Cividale, an industrial settlement, and then take the cycle track to Premariacco; follow the road signs that will take you to Firmano, along peripheral roads and crossing the broadwalk for pedestrian and cycle use only on the side of the Natisone river.
Ride along a low-traffic peripheral road, along the left side of the river, reaching Leproso. The following track, on a gravel road, still aside the river, takes to Oleis.
Once in the village, turn southwards, and turning left, just out of the residential area, you find the paved cycle facility that takes to Case di Manzano.
A short way along quiet roads and few houses, then you access a nice cycle-track among lawns and groves from Riul di San Zuan to San Giovanni al Natisone.
Some peripheral track, then a long and straight cycle facility crossing the industrial area; pass the Corno stream, and again another peripheral road until reaching the Judrio river: here you are on the border of the province of Udine. Cross the bridge over the Judrio river, straight on you arrive at Cormons
