The hamlet of Cave del Predil, formerly named Raibl, is located at 900 meters  a.s.l. few kilometers south of the town of Tarvisio.  The settlement was established since  a remarkable zinc deposit was found here.
The excavation yard of the mine is still well visible on the side of the Monte del Re.
Despite it is in evident conflict with the magnificent environment of the surroundings, this dull settlement has maintained its history and the overall structure, thus highlighting from a positive point of view the evident contrast between nature and technology, with the magic result of enhancing the features of both.

The Museum of Mining Arts of Cave del Predil , founded and thenceforth  run by the cooperative association named “Nuova Raibl” when the mine stopped its activity, offers the possibility to know and understand the history on the mine and of the neighbouring village.

The vintage pictures of the mine and of the miners that here – until 1999 – have worked, suffered and struggled, contribute in transmitting to visitors an increased awareness of today’s life, and get some additional information about ore mining and the further use and features of minerals.
During the visit,  which usually takes from 30 to 45 minutes, the guide depicts the common life and the history of the village, closely linked to the mine, and presents photos, minerals, tools, 3D models and reproductions in small scale of the machines for the ore processing activities. The museum is suitable for all ages visitors, and there is no limit to the number of same.
